David Glen Eisley
1. "The Return" (2:10) A fairly mellow affair from Giuffria vocalist David Glen Eisley. Actually, this CD isn't that far off from what one would expect from Eisley or even Giuffria. Melodic hard rock with a relaxed tone and fairly pop oriented song structures. Not a disc you want to put on if you are wanting to really rock, but a decent listen if you are wanting to kick back and mellow out a bit. On board for the ride is ex-Giuffria bassist Chuck Wright and ex-Giuffria/current Dio guitarist Craig Goldy, making this 2000 release almost a Giuffria reunion of sorts. However, from what I have read, much of the guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and all of the vocals were performed by David, making this a true solo album.
1. "Stand Up"
(4:34) Man, it's almost like having a third Giuffria cd. "The Lost Tapes" is made up of 2/3 material written and played by Greg Giuffria and David Eisley. No less than 9 of these 13 tracks were written by Greg and David for what would have become the third Giuffria cd. A few of these tracks made it onto the first House of Lords disc, but were completely re-recorded and therefore differ greatly from these recordings. Most of these Giuffria tracks also have Lanny Cordola playing guitar and Ken Mary on drums. The remaining tracks (Tracks 6-8) were written by Earl Slick and David for a shortlived band called Dirty White Boys. This is a great disc for those searching for some additional Giuffria material or who just enjoy good 80's AOR/melodic metal.
