Magdallan/Magdalen
Magdallan started out as a project of Lanny
Cordola (ex-House of Lords)
and Ken Tamplin (ex-Shout).
After their first album Lanny decided to make Magdallan
a full band so he changed
the name to Magdalen and recruited ex-House
of Lords members Chuck Wright and Ken Mary.
Magdallan - Big Bang (Intense) 1992

of the Ages" (6:12)

3. "Shake" (3:50)
4. "Wounded Hearts" (5:34)
5. "Love To The Rescue" (5:07)
6. "Old Hard Line" (4:31)
7. "Dome of the Rock" (4:47)
8. "Big Bang" (4:51)
9. "House of Dreams" (4:17)
10. "Cry Just A Little" (4:57)
11. "Heartbreak Woman" (4:08)
12. "This 1's 4U" (5:46)
13. "End of the Ages (Reprise)" (:34)
Overproduced,
commercial pop metal/AOR. Lots of hooks, loads of talent, but way to clean and
overproduced. Ken Tamplin has a great
voice.

7. "Sad Sister Alchemy" (4:29)
8. "Bad Bones" (4:22)
9. "Waiting For the Son" (5:46)
10. "Samson and Delilah" (3:23)
11. "Bethel" (:55)
12. "Caves of Hercules" (4:59)
13. "American Lament" (3:57)
14. "Testimony" (2:19)
This CD by
Magdalen features Lanny Cordola, Chuck Wright and Ken Mary, all of whom were
a part of House of Lords at one
time. So, I guess I was hoping for another House
of Lords melodic metal disc. This disc, however, is more experimental adding
in elements of modern rock, funk, and even some jazz. I guess I would just label
it hard rock. Not really much more to say. I've seen this used many times but
decided to finally pick it up in a clearance bin for $1.99.
Magdalen - The Dirt (Intense) 1995
1. "War
Pigs" (5:09)
2. "Shotgun Shack": (5:46)
3. "The Rapture" (3:33)
4. "Redemption Song" (4:47)
5. "Bourbon Way" (3:27)
6. "Street of No Hope" (3:30)
Lanny Cordola
and Co. release their third, and final (?) release. This time 'round it's an
acoustic six song ep. Coolest thing about it is the killer, creative rendition
of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs."
The Magdelen version has an Indian flavor to it. "Redemption Song"
is a Bob Marley song.
