fierce conviction
1. "In Your Mind"
(4:00) I would tend to describe this band's music a progressive metal, but this description inevitably brings up thoughts of Fates Warning or Dream Theater, neither of which accurately describes Fierce Conviction, although there are small influences of both bands in this album. I think a closer description would be the last two Psychotic Waltz platters as the band mixes some very heavy guitar grooves and riffs with fast tempo changes, sweeping acoustic passages, some spacey song writing, and killer clean vocals.
1. "Life Beyond the
Light" (4:49) Apparently the band's second release, they shortened their name to just Conviction. I'm not sure why. There was an American Christian rock band for many years called Conviction as well, although they were a much different style musically. |
