This is actually the same show as 'White Heroes,' only this is the entire show, split up into two discs. This has got to be one of the rarest discs in the world. I literally offered to kiss the feet of my friend who found this disc for me. Anyhow as I said in the 'White Heroes' review this is a killer live set. "Can You Feel It" sounds great in this live setting, especially adding the extended Punky solo towards the end. Most of this disc is quite different from the officially released "Live Without a Net" album, especially the solos and introduction. Gregg's excellent keyboard solo alone is worth the price of admission. This solo is quite different from the edited solo on "Live Without a Net" and reminds me slightly of something Rick Wakeman might do. The sound quality of this boot, while not being perfect, is quite good (A). Overall, an excellent live CD bootleg. One minor irritant is that the 'Gabriel Introduction' doesn't play properly on this disc. It must be a defect in the pressing because the disc is in perfect condition, so I won't be able to get rid of the Swingin Pig version below.

Killer bootleg for a classic period of the band. The Angel introduction is all spoken in Japanese, which is cool. The sound isn't perfect but is listenable. You have to love those high pitched Japanese crowds too.

Killer live set! Angel were at home on the stage, and every live performance I have ever heard of them testifies to it. Overall, an excellent live CDR bootleg. This show has also been released on vinyl under the title "Blowing Great Guns" (Oh Boy/2-9111)

14. "Got Love If You Want It" (3:34)
15. "Feelin' Right" (6:00)

Superb live recording capturing Angel in Long Beach, CA. Excellent set list including Bowie cover "All the Young Dudes". Also has all the extras including the drum and keyboard solos, the extended jam in "Feelin' Right", etc. Angel at their prime. The crowd noise in between songs has been cut a bit, I suppose to make room for all the music. Other than this slight annoyance, this CD sport excellent sound quality. It sounds like it may have been a radio broadcast.

Rarities Angel - Rarities

1. "Runnin' with the Foxes" (3:48)
2. "Walk Away Renee" (2:55)
3. "Virginia" (3:59)
4. "The Christmas Song"(4:02)
5. "Better Days" (4:33)
6. "Chicken Soup" [live] (4:28)
7. "The Fortune" [live] (8:58)
8. "White Lightning" [live] (7:30)
9. "You're So Cold" [live] (4:30)
10. "Whips" [demo] (5:01)
11. "Troubleshooter" [demo] (3:57)
12. "Should've Known Better" [demo] (3:29)
13. "I Wish The Night" [demo] (5:07)
14. "Hot and Heavy" [demo] (4:29)

A collection of "rare" Angel b-sides, demos and live tracks. A few of these songs have appeared on the CD reissues. "Better Days" has yet to see release officially on CD. It was the b-side of the "Aint' Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" single. "You're So Cold" was a new song that was to be recorded on the studio follow-up to "Sinful". Unfortunately that follow-up never happened and this song was never recorded. This particular live track was recorded in Phoenix. Tracks 10 - 12 are 1981 demo tracks that feature a "new" Angel line-up that did not include vocalist Frank DiMino. The last couple tracks were 1987 demos that featured Frank DiMino and Barry Brandt. Of course, with the variety of source materials used to make this compilation of rarities, the sound quality wavers from track to track. However, this is still an interesting listen for the Angel fanatic. (Thanks Trog)
