Doomy metal mixed with hard rock, metal, punk and a whole lot of that L.A. attitude that bands like Guns 'n Roses and Faster Pussycat were famous for. The production is spotless, the packaging is killer, and the band looks lean and mean, dressed in denim and leather. However, I would not say that this particular TSOL CD is anywhere near the bands I compared them to above. The songwriting is a bit to simplistic, almost like Faster Pussycat on downers without the hooks. That is not to say I don't like this CD though. "Hell On Eath" and "Strange Love" are some of the most inviting tunes, with the most apparent hooks. The power ballad "In The Wind" is also a decent song. This is probably one of those discs that will grow on me with repeated listens.
